Located high in the El Paso mountains of DM15, the weekend started out very well. The site is an old Air Force communications site reached only by 4WD on dirt roads. It is about 4800' with a good view in all directions.

Everything for 6 bands plus living equipment are packed in the truck. Also included is a wind generator to extend the battery life. Wind is usually never a problem here in the desert.

Operating all the bands between 6M and 23cm. Everything went
smoothly until Sunday afternoon. At that point the wind started picking
up... to about 50 MPH! I was almost literally blown off the mountain. I
managed to take down the antennas and pack everything away and headed
home by about 6 PM, missing the last 4 hours of the contest.
